A Brooklyn man, Wayne Murray, has struck gold for a second time, winning big on a scratch off ticket. At the close of 2023, the New York Lottery reported that Murray claimed a whopping $10,000,000 top prize on the New York Lottery’s 200X scratch-off ticket.

The win serves as Murray’s second. Less than 2-years ago, in 2022, the 63-year-old walked away with his first $10,000,000; the top prize on the Lottery’s Black Titanium ticket. According to The New York Post, both wins cost him a humble $30, per ticket.

Wayne Murray Breaks His Silence

Speaking to the news outlet, Murray stated he’d like to lay low and avoid unwanted attention.

“Some of us just like to be discreet,” he told The Post.

Of his most recent winnings, the NYC local opted for a single lump sum payment of $6,122,400, after required withholdings. The same goes for his initial prize, in 2022.

Following news of his recent cash prize, Murray was spotted leaving his Flatbush residence in a pricey whip; a 2024 Range Rover SV, with a price tag beginning at $209,000 but can run over $234,000, per Range Rover’s website.

His home, on the other hand, is valued at $815,400 on Zillow, the media outlet reports.

He’s A Regular Guy

According to H&A store clerk Hassan Nabil, Murray is a frequent customer and purchased both tickets at the retailer where he works. Moreso, Nabil shares that contrary to stereotypes, Murray remains down-to-earth and well-liked.

“Twice in a row — what are the odds? You can’t even think about it. It’s not comprehensible,” Nabil previously told The Post.

“He’s a super regular guy. He could have moved out of the neighborhood after winning the first time, but he stood his ground,” he added. “Money changes a lot of people, but he doesn’t show off or anything. He keeps it real, keeps it honest.”

Calling Murray a “regular guy” may be an understatement, as his neighbor had no idea he had won such a substantial prize, not only once but twice.

“I had no idea. He’s very humble that way,” Constance Bryane told The Post at the time. “I’m going to have to congratulate him the next time I see him.”
